OFF-CHAIN COMPUTATION IN CARTESI

The revolution of software capability in the world at this time has two factors. The first is ever-increasing the expressive power of a software development environment. The second is the speed that a modern platform can process some data. The general purpose of computation is not for isolation. They are creating from the worldwide developer in the world. The service is using the standard library facility of operating systems like networking, file system, memory management, and process management. All of them are tied to become one by the operating system.

This paper will give information about Cartesi. It is a layer 2 platform for deployment and development. This is a very scalable application. As we know that public blockchain is a mechanism for a network that can maintain the decentralized consensus in a sharing state. It is state hold typically with other data and payment systems. It is held by some people in the economic system works for making the state available to others. It has a function for rejecting the invalid transaction. The payment system is built in the upper of consensus. It can be used for another purpose. The new blockchain technology is envisioned on some infrastructure. In this time, there are two major obstacles. Both of scalability and reproducibility made on-chain computation very restrictive. So, the user needs to boost productivity and make more scope of blockchain development. The user needs new things to reproducible computation model. It is the role to support the modern operating system.

Cartesi is a two-layer platform for the development of the scalable application. The Cartesi Dapps are hybrid. For example, it includes two kinds of components, off-chain, and blockchain. Native computation is available on the host hardware. Off-chain consists of two modalities. The computation is not reproducible, although native computation can access the node for full processing. On the other hand, reproducible computation inside the machine of Cartesi Node. It is very self-contained in the Linux System on RISC-V architecture. The interaction of node and Cartesi Machine is well defined as the host interface.

There is some advantage of moving computation off the chain. The advantage mostly is in scalability. It enables the Dapp developer to use the software, programming language, tools, libraries, and service. A computation is formulated in the agnostic to underline blockchain. The developer can produce apps across different blockchain by isolating all complex smart contract logic become reproducible off-chain computation.

The Cartesi Dapp can be reproducible in the off-chain computation of the big amount of off-chain data. It can follow a specification to act like computation off the chain. The developer of off-chain can make the node to complete the result. They can dispute and verify the result. There is another perspective from a blockchain perspective to undisputed the computation. The cost of settlement is the only logarithm of time and storage when the time of computation. Not more than twice of Cartesi experience node by computation. Cartesi removes the gap between computation and storage whether traditional computer programs and smart contracts.
